Music is a muse that cannot be ignored or denied.                        Started in the seventies playing out.  Played a lot of places all over the US with name people on big stages.  Music biz is rough, mean people suck. blah blah blah.

i like to play live with other players,  the magic and inspiration is there. If you are playing the ink, it is in the phrasing. If you are playing in the moment, it is when the whole is more than the parts. If music was just about the "best players" well, then that is all you would see and hear. But it doesn't work that way. Music really
works when it connects with people.

What is the true impact of what was learned, contests won, or musicians shared with.  Does it make a statement or hold a place of time.  Do people besides your mom or girlfriend like it. Do you have the drive to persue your art.

It is good live music.   All types.

 I am working on an album, but use music to get away from any type of work.

Why do I still play and promote live music? Someone else said it best.

Jim Kolman is an unpretentious guitarist whose foreground and background playing deliver equal doses of "beautiful, bell-clear sounds to searing guitar howls with a sure-footed sense of style."  The focus is on his composing/arranging skills and works with traditional instrumentation ensembles. The album work was the next natural step for the veteran player's growth, culminating years of composition studies about which he has become increasingly passionate. In his own notes, he refers to the CD repertoire as an effort to "create a body of work that explores a wide spectrum of colors and forms," explaining that "while there exists known rythyms on certain tracks, other pieces travel from tonal to atonal sections-an adventure where the listener will discover "new turns of musical form and expression."
